With the wind blowing out of the slip channel and the boat docked stern-to, this is one of the easier departures. Motor forward out of the slip and continue down the channel. If the wind is pressing the boat against the dock, have a crew member fend off and walk the boat forward as you leave. Maintain enough speed for positive steering control, and keep a careful lookout for traffic as you enter the main channel. #sailing #sailingschool #sailor #sailboat
