Sail2Sonus is a festival sailing cruise that combines Sonus Festival’s program with sailing and island hopping in Croatia. We thought it’d be great to experience the music festival through living on a sailing boat instead of rooms or tents. Why not? This way you can make the most out of the summer days, explore, enjoy and really live the sea. By day you’ll be spending time on a yacht, sailing and relaxing on the deck with friends. As a complete newbie to the sailing world, I had no idea where to start my liveaboard life and I had so much to learn. But first things first. I bought a sailboat, an old wooden ex fishing boat, build for rough seas, 40 ft long and over 15t heavy. But before the sailing life begins I have to do a lot of work, from re caulking to placing planks and wood rot, repainting and anti fouling as well as turning the whole inside into a beautiful homely living space. Come along and help me figure out how to live on a boat and how to sail.
