THE Benchmark design freefall lifeboat, the FF1200, received the Norwegian Design Council "Award For Design Excellence" in 2010. It set a world record drop height of 55m in 2009, and another at 65m in 2013. This video was broadcast at the pricegiving. Video should play in 1080p. Itâs been a bit quite. Iâve been really sick, as you can hear in this videođ but here is one of my latest projects, not finished but hey⊠you gotta start somewhere! Little back story, Iâve had this huge solar panel sitting in my living area for over 2 months now, not connected just in my way. So I decided itâs time to get it installed but mounting on the canvas roof without damaging the canvas seems tricky, so I decided to build a hard top out of plywood and fiberglass and fit it onto the frame. Means I can easily mount the solar panel and other stuff like outdoor light and more fairy lights âš Thanks for the help As a complete newbie to the sailing world, I had no idea where to start my liveaboard life and I had so much to learn. But first things first. I bought a sailboat, an old wooden ex fishing boat, build for rough seas, 40 ft long and over 15t heavy. But before the sailing life begins I have to do a lot of work, from re caulking to placing planks and wood rot, repainting and anti fouling as well as turning the whole inside into a beautiful homely living space. Come along and help me figure out how to live on a boat and how to sail.

Gaetano Ăš nato il 7 luglio 1968 a Cala Gonone sulla costa orientale della Sardegna dove ha sempre vissuto; qui il rapporto con la natura Ăš la vita stessa, e al mare Gaetano ha consacrato la sua esistenza, nell'appassionato incontro tra lavoro, sogno e avventura.Dove Ăš nato Gaetano non esistono circoli velici e manca una tradizione di vela. La sua carriera in mare incomincia presto quando si imbarca come mozzo sui pescherecci, poi come comandante sul trasporto passeggeri di piccolo cabotaggio. A vent'anni acquista il Dovesesto un fatiscente veliero d'epoca di 23 metri col quale, una volta restaurato, si guadagnerĂ da vivere (un'innovativa esperienza imprenditoriale) facendo charter e sarĂ la scuola della sua vita. Autodidatta per forza di cose ha imparato la vela da solo, trasformando la sua passione in impegno concreto attraverso studio e determinazione imparando a comprendere il vento onnipresente nella sua isola. Poi le regate lungo l' Oceano, una conquista dopo l'altra. La sua vocazione Ăš la navigazione in solitario, quella che gli Ăš piĂč congeniale per la quale sente di avere una predisposizione fisica e mentale. La sua ultima impresa Ăš la partecipazione alla Transat 2009. Nel 2011 ha progettato "gironelmondo" e dal 2012 inizia l'attivitĂ con BET 1128 Saling Team. Partecipando alla Palermo Montecarlo dove vince nella sua classe, poi la Middle Sea Race dove conquista il secondo posto. Nel 2013 trasloco in oceano per la partecipazione a Les Sables-Horta- Les Sables e alla Transat Jacques Vabre
