Our resident liveaboard talks about how freedom is one of the best adjectives to describe being a full time catamaran liveaboard, and how this particular Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 Evolution is the perfect catamaran for being on the water. Harking from a seminal period in Sparkman & Stephens design history following their 12-Metre INTREPID's America's Cup success - when S&S led the way in split-keel-and-rudder racers and cruiser-racers - ROSE WILDER has the added good fortune of build by one of the finest of #italian #yards, Cantiere Sangermani. https://www.sandemanyachtcompany.co.uk/yacht/710/ROSE%20WILDER%20(ex%20SANDPIPER) Their artistic attention to detail and quality is evident throughout. As SANDPIPER in long initial ownership by Santa Barbara #yacht Club's Dean Brown, she was a well known and successful participant in some of the classic West Coast USA offshore races. Subsequently she has cruised the Pacific seaboard in the hands of only two owners who, not surprisingly, fell in love with this very attractive, responsive and sure-footed yacht. Modern #sail handling systems allow her to be easily sailed single or short handed while bow and stern thrusters allow neat berthing feats. Although very much in commission, ROSE WILDER does require attention to elements of her structure commensurate with her age - reflected in a very reasonable asking price for a very striking 50-footer with superb #provenance.

A little test-fire of the Cubic Mini Grizzly. The stove is mostly installed. I need to finish the ceiling trim and the heat shields behind the chimney. But, a quick fire during happy hour didn’t hurt anything. What a difference this stove makes to the comfort of a sailboat! Wow. I am really looking forward to getting it going in earnest…and the timing is perfect as the temps are going to be minus double-digits next week. 🥶
