The Rolex Spirit of Yachting film featuring the Rolex Farr 40 World Championship 2017 is coming soon to the Rolex YouTube Yachting Channel. This 25-minute documentary will cover the action, highlights and memorable moments of this iconic regatta, including previously unseen footage and interviews with key participants. The 20th edition of the Rolex Farr 40 Worlds — held in Porto Cervo on 13–16 July and organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda — provided the perfect stage for close racing between evenly-matched, 40-foot monohull racing yachts, helmed by skilled and highly competitive owners.

Built locally in Sidney, this Yar 26 is simply “wow” when you step onboard this piece of nautical history that was described as the “boat of tomorrow” by their designer. This mighty little ship is built to cruise comfortably off-the grid throughout the PNW, supported by tanks that carry 50USG of fuel and 75 USG of water with the added bonus of a solar panel to keep the 4 x House batteries fully charged. Finished in custom oak, this vessel was repowered with a Beta diesel engine that only has 525 hours and provides a comfortable cruising speed of 6-7 knots with exceptional fuel efficiency. Electric windlass, auto-helm, large fridge, hot water, dinghy and a 2.5hp Suzuki outboard are all part of the package. There's a ton of boat down in George Town, Bahamas in January and February. We made it down here early spring last year and there were far less boats. I think we were told that during the cruisers regatta, there can be in upwards of 300 boats down here. Anyways, the cruising community down here is amazing. There's a regular cruisers net in the morning. They have rum tastings, volleyball, Texas Hold Em and lots of kids related activities.
