This is a common sight in open water and in the narrow parts of the ICW. These things are like freight trains on water. They are mostly friendly and I would speak to most of them on the radio as we approached each other to be sure I knew which side they wanted me to pass them on.

When it rains so heavy you can barely see your bow ⛈️ that’s not the moment you want your AIS alarm beeping 🚨 While AIS is rather precise, we do not want to rely on it 100% when passing a boat only 0.2nm away.
