We're Nick and Terysa and we’ve become completely obsessed with the idea of sailing around the world and sharing our experiences and information through our sailing lifestyle videos with others. We met travelling around India, and quickly agreed that rather than “settling down” and doing what most normal people do, we wanted to travel and have adventures! We moved onto our 38 foot monohull in 2014, sailed across the Atlantic twice, cruised the Caribbean, Bahamas and Europe, before buying a brand new 45 ft catamaran! We hope you enjoy what we do. Please subscribe, like and share.
I really wanted to love this Bajang (also known as Zongzi). It’s a masterpiece of culinary engineering: sticky rice, savory fillings, and that iconic pyramidal shape, all bound by the ancient technology of the banana leaf. This dish dates back over 2,000 years to the Zhou Dynasty. Legend says it was born as a ritual offering to honor the poet Qu Yuan, thrown into rivers to prevent fish from eating his body. It’s a symbol of loyalty and survival, a portable meal designed for ancient travelers and warriors. As a researcher, I admire the craft. The leaf infuses the rice with polyphenols and a distinct grassy aroma, a perfect example of indigenous cuisine using nature as a pressure cooker. But strictly from a taste perspective? It didn’t click for me today. The flavor profile is complex, dense, and deeply traditional, but sometimes food heritage challenges our modern palates. And that’s okay. My mission isn’t to find "tasty" food, it’s to preserve the taste of history. Is this a masterpiece or just an acquired taste? Have you tried Bajang? Let’s talk in the comments. 👇 Culinary anthropologist tasting traditional Bajang (Zongzi) wrapped in banana leaves at Yaowarat, Bangkok’s Chinatown street food market. The loft is based in Gosport, on the southern coast of the UK, and houses a number of global departments under one roof. These include Superyacht finishing and sail production for One Design and North Sails 3Di. As NorthSails’ European flagship facility, the loft enables North Sails to remain at the forefront of sail technology, innovation and manufacturing. Gosport is the first loft in the world to specialise in superyacht sails, and it’s gigantic raised floor – measuring 1,950m2 – is the largest ever built. A team of 9 designers and 82 staff members are aided by state-of-the-art technology and equipment, ensuring sails are delivered quickly, and safely – with no compromises in quality.
