As a complete newbie to the sailing world, I had no idea where to start my liveaboard life and I had so much to learn. But first things first. I bought a sailboat, an old wooden ex fishing boat, build for rough seas, 40 ft long and over 15t heavy. But before the sailing life begins I have to do a lot of work, from re caulking to placing planks and wood rot, repainting and anti fouling as well as turning the whole inside into a beautiful homely living space. Ollie Mellor racing on board - . “Awesome conditions, full on! We have a reef in and the A5 up and on deck it is as wet as hell, and not much drier below but we are just loving it! We have seen over 20 knots of boat speed off some big waves - Time to get two hours rest before we put another reef in before the gybe. We want that lead.”
