Welcome to Day 2 of our Christmas calendar! 🎄 Today, we’re diving into the galley—our compact yet highly functional kitchen on Vela. ⛵ Placed on the starboard side, just behind the nav station, our galley is designed for safety and efficiency: ✨ Longitudinal layout ensures we can cook securely even when the boat heels. ❄️ Big fridge and freezer for all our provisions. 🔥 Gas stove for cooking up delicious meals, even mid-passage. 💦 Double sink with 3 water outlets: Pressurized fresh water (hot/cold) Manual fresh water pump Manual saltwater pump (great for rinsing without wasting fresh water). On the opposite side, we have a spacious prepping area, and while we once had a microwave, we’ve replaced it with storage and an espresso machine—because we appreciate a good cup of coffee! ☕ What would you cook in this galley? DICEMBRE 2019 Il nostro fidato Eurovinil è scaduto da un paio di anni. Sfortunatamente in tutto il Pacifico, dalla Polinesia Francese alle Fiji, dalla Nuova Caledonia all'Australia non è stato possibile trovare una stazione di revisione. La Eurovinil ci ha consigliato di recarci al più presto a Singapore per effettuare la revisione 😝. Abbiamo deciso di provare ad aprirlo: tutto ha funzionato perfettamente. A malincuore, dopo aver recuperato il materiale salvabile abbiamo buttato tutto nel cassonetto. Manta Point in central Komodo is a drift dive with a flat rubble bottom and usually great Manta sightings…..sometimes upto 50 on one dive !! The Manta come here to feed, clean and mate mostly from September through to April but sometimes year round. We often also see Marble Rays, Turtles, Reef Sharks and Blue Spotted Stingrays here as we drift along in the current.
