This was a great day. Meeting the amazing folks that hang around marinas. Boat people seem to be a different type. They’re helpful and sharing and friendly. Meeting David as he was headed out to drop some crab traps paid dividends when he came back later in the day and would not accept anything in exchange for his time collecting crabs. Two fresh crabs for dinner! Then, later in the day, we helped James and Betty load up their inflatable tender. Asking them if it was for sale and then how much they wanted for it…ended up being ours for free. We’ve been looking at hard-bottom tenders for a couple weeks, and the prices are ridiculous! We’re talking in the ballpark of $7k for new 3 metre hard-bottoms. So, this little boat is a truly appreciated gift. I am filled with gratitude right now.

Cominciamo con il botto!! Un bassa pressione presente sulle Azzorre ci sta dando filo da torcere, mentre facciamo slalom tra la bonaccia e il vento contro. Mao partenza fu più sofferta e questo bagliore di adrenalina ci ricarica le pile al 100%! Sotto, io e Andre lavoriamo al pc e con le call. In next Friday’s full episode we set sail from the Aeolian Islands bound for Corsica with light winds forecast….the wind was so light at times that we found ourselves becalmed on a mirror flat sea drifting around in circles or backwards. We tried to be patient but then dark clouds began to appear and the radar tracked storms moving towards us. Wind then arrived allowing us to finally sail but when the lightning started we realised we needed to try to get out of the path of the storm…. #boatlife #sailing #sailinglife #becalmed #medsailing #sailaroundtheworld
