Me and The Kiwi Novice Sailors A Travel Writer🖋️and A Helicopter 🚁 Pilot; sailing the 🌍 together. 🇺🇸 Now In: Alaska Aloha & Kia Ora: Welcome to Me and The Kiwi: This is the story of how two mid-lifers met on a three-hour flight from Nashville to Denver, became smitten with each other, fell ridiculously in love, and two months later, threw caution to the wind, and went all in. On this channel, we share our personal journey--the next step, which is sailing around the world, as a couple who had no previous sailing experience. Everything from the preparation and research, the boat search to the first hoist of the mainsail and beyond. Remember: Travel is a state of mind, not a state of finance. In 2014 Ed completed an 18 month circumnavigation with his father, and I (Paige) got to tag along for most of the Pacific🙌🏻. Following Ed's return we knew we would do whatever it took to get back on the water, this time in our own boat, together. So, after nearly 5 years of planning, saving, and questioning our sanity, we quit our jobs in 2019 and sold most of our non-essential/non-heartfelt belongings. We've decided to spend the next few years dedicating ourselves to travel and adventure while living aboard our 37 foot home, Sea Pearl. If you'd like to join us while we work to get our new home offshore ready and to see what we get up to on our future sailing adventures - like, subscribe, and follow along. We'd love to have you! Set your course by the stars, not by the lights of every passing ship. The stars, like your core values and dreams, remain constant, guiding you through calm seas and turbulent storms alike. Passing ships, however, represent fleeting distractions and the opinions of others that can easily lead you astray if you let them. Stay true to your path, trust in your own direction, and don't allow the noise and uncertainty of temporary influences to alter the course you're destined for.
