At Rustler Yachts we've been working with engine manufacturer Yanmar to produce a robust and efficient charging system for our yachts. This option gives you more power for less charging and means auxiliary charging systems like wind, solar, hydro or diesel generators are needed less. Let Simon, our Head of Engineering talk you through the system we use on our Rustler 42. Beautiful boats, built beautifully Visit http://rustleryachts.com to find out more #Rustleryachts #oceancruising #sailing #sailboat #yacht #sailing #offshorecruiser #boatbuilders #boat #handcrafted #bespokeyacht #semicustomyacht #handbuilt #cornwall #charging #YanmarEngine

As I type this we are down at the sailboat. Some great videos coming your way as we start the process of rehabilitating our boat. Lots of projects ongoing. Today was busy. But in the meantime, here is the last of the wheat harvest…putting the grain into the aeration bin to dry.

Doing a rig check before offshore sailing? Here’s how we inspect our rigging before every passage. From the top of the mast, we check for cracked fittings, loose pins, corrosion, and halyard chafe — the small things that can turn into big problems at sea. We use a climbing harness (or a bosun’s chair works too), a figure 8 knot for extra security, and always a backup halyard. Clear communication and double-checking gear are key when one of you is literally hoisting the other up the mast. This is part of our pre-passage checklist — and it’s one of the most important safety steps we take before any long sail. ⛵ Want more sailing tips, rigging know-how, and liveaboard life?
