J109 Going to Red was tacking in close quarters to the shore shortly after the start of the harbour race of Volvo Cork week 2024. With the tide rushing into Cork Harbour it paid to stick to the right to get relief from the in rushing tide. There are a couple of close crosses as the majority of the fleet tried to maximise the relief they got. THE Benchmark design freefall lifeboat, the FF1200, received the Norwegian Design Council "Award For Design Excellence" in 2010. It set a world record drop height of 55m in 2009, and another at 65m in 2013. This video was broadcast at the pricegiving. Video should play in 1080p.
