When winter shows up, the build doesn’t slow down—it just gets… creative. With the cockpit shrink-wrapped, a single zippered doorway as our gateway to the cold, and our diesel heater pushing warm air wherever we need it, we’re keeping this project moving one day at a time. Today’s mission: getting our 600-pound diesel electric hybrid engine lifted just a few inches so we can prep the mounts beneath and lock everything in with fast-setting methacrylate. In December I crossed the Atlantic from the Canary Islands to Barbados on a friends Lagoon 380. For the first 2000 miles or so we had calms or very light winds and so fellow crew member Erick could fly his drone. After a while you don't notice the swells when on board, it's just a gentle rocking motion. Even when the wind picked up there were none of the "mountainous seas" beloved by the media!
