Der Knoten dient zum Bergen und Sichern von Personen und ist zum Festmachen geeignet. Als Festmacher wird die Leine als feste Schlaufe um den Poller gelegt oder an einem festen Punkt an Land festgebunden.

With the forecast winds we were going to be close hauled and knew we might be pushed off course and end up sailing straight on past to Majorca or even end up in Barcelona - but we didn’t mind.
