The the Over Hand Knot is one of if not the simples of knots to tie, chances are you already know how to tie it you just don't know what it is called. It is a stopper knot that can be used to stop sheet and halyards from running through cleats and pulleys. If you are using small line you may need to upgrade to stopper knot which create a larger stopper. The Overhand Knot is also be called the Simple Knot or Half Knot.
