Two new things today. First, a replacement for our much abused Makita drill which has given up. The grip on the chuck for changing drills was already worn to the point of being very hard to tighten or release, the motor has been struggling for a while too. So new, more powerful one with harder wearing metal parts. Plus the cutest little kettle for our Refleks stove. Now we don't need to use electricity (if we have the diesel stove on) to make tea/coffere or do the washing up :-) We are now living aboard our Rival 38 Centre Cockpit full-time while finishing a refit so we can launch ASAP. We have a frequently updated blog at https://sustainablesailing.net with membership options and a weekly newsletter at £2 per month for Early Bird Supporters. Our free Sustainable Sailing book is at: https://sustainablesailing.codeberg.page/ Or visit our shop at https://sustainablesailing.teemill.com/ for great hoodies, t-shirts and bags. When we bought Vida in August 2019 she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings (much of it not working). We have removed all the gas, diesel and paraffin equipment, and are installing all-electric (motor, cooking etc). This converted Admiralty Launch vessel is moored on a residential berth in the middle of Greenland dock conveniently located between London Bridge and Docklands on the jubilee and overground lines and nestled in a vibrant boating and local community. If you are looking for a 2 bedroom home or a great place to work from home the combination of saloon wheelhouse, galley, lounge and cabins offers great flexibility in the use of the spaces. It has has a split level with the saloon seating and dining table on the upper level midships with access to the lounge towards the back, and to the galley master cabin and shower room to the front. The lounge has a wood burning stove and wall mounted tv creating a more snug like layout with side windows and double back door access to the canvased deck space, which is useful for storing equipment and logs for the fireplace. This room has a sofa bed so could be the master bedroom or the lounge / guest bedroom. The clever layout of the brightly painted galley has a full size fridge freezer, 4 hob gas cooker and lots of easily accessible storage. The master cabin double bed and under bed storage is located towards the front of the boat. Porthole windows and opening roof lights add charm and detail to the room. The engine room is located under the wheel house saloon in the centre of the boat, containing tanks, electrics batteries etc. Located on a residential mooring in a well run and popular marina, the sale price of boat includes the 10% of selling price payable to Southwark Council for the transfer of the residential licence fee. The boat can be sold with out the licence and off the mooring and the sale price would be adjusted accordingly.
