Escaping the storm. Sailing through squall after squall in the Indian Ocean. We shedded our sail and were reduced to hand steering the boat through the dark of the night. It was unpleasant yet character building.

Toen we overstaken van het eiland Zakynthos naar Kefalonia, verschenen een aantal dolfijnen voor onze boeg! Ze zwommen een paar minuten mee voor de boot, heel leuk! Dolfijnen zijn geen vissen, maar zoogdieren. Ze ademen met longen en moeten dus steeds naar de oppervlakte om lucht te halen. Het zijn echte teamspelers. Ze jagen soms gezamenlijk door scholen vis bijeen te drijven en er vervolgens om de beurt doorheen te zwemmen. Een interessant feit is dat ze kunnen slapen met één hersenhelft tegelijk. de andere helft blijft wakker om te kunnen ademen en de omgeving in de gaten te houden!
