È partita l’8 gennaio da Puerto Calero, Lanzarote, la RORC Transatlantic Race. Circa tremila miglia di navigazione attraverso l’Atlantico dalle Canarie a Grenada, nei Caraibi orientali. Maserati Multi70, che sulla linea del via ha sofferto leggermente le condizioni di vento moderato, nell’avventurarsi più al largo a nord di Tenerife ha costruito la rimonta nella zona di accelerazione tra le isole, e con l’ingresso nella brezza costante dell’Oceano, intorno all’alba del secondo giorno, ha dato il meglio di sé, superando Snowflake e Zoulou e stabilendosi al comando della flotta. “Quelle della seconda notte dopo la partenza sono state ore intense, con venti nodi e velocità pazzesche,” riferisce da bordo Giovanni Soldini, “Abbiamo toccato picchi di 37 nodi con onde di due tre metri. Siamo dove volevamo essere, in controllo sugli avversari, la strada è lunga ma noi non molliamo”. All’ultimo aggiornamento delle 12:00 UTC del 10 gennaio, la flotta dei tre MOD70 ha percorso già più di mille miglia e si trova a meno di duemila miglia dal traguardo. Bowline. Pinch and Twist (Mariner's) method. #katknots ▫️ More knots at kats.co/kts or click our profile link and head to the footer links. ▫️ This is a great quick way of tying a bowline. You can even do this one handed. ▫️ Before you start, just take a minute to see how the line is arranged. Then do it the same every time. In this example, the standing end and working end are running away from you. Say if you were on the dock tying up your tender. ▫️ The working (loose end) is on my right and I lay it over the standing end. Then I pinch the join with my right hand and twist clockwise and do a thumbs up 👍🏽 so the rope end pops up through the loop you have made. Practise this a few times. ▫️ Then finish off as usual, round the tree, back down the hole. Easy! Make sure the working end lies on the inside of the loop (come around the tree right to left in this example).
