Mancavano -2 giorni alla partenza della 16ª Transat Jacques Vabre, cambiata improvvisamente di programma a partire dalla sera prima, con un secondo e radicale cambiamento la mattina della partenza stessa, causa un fronte atlantico pronto a portare la tempesta del secolo. I Class40, così come gli Ocean Fifty, dirigeranno su Lorient per una prima tappa sprint, unica soluzione per anticipare e riparare da un meteo che diventa sempre più inclemente.
