Working or playing? When you love what you do and do what you love there's often no clear line between the two. To design and build outstanding boats, understanding every aspect of the interplay between hulls, wind & water is crucial, as is first hand experience of all the systems and components that bring it to life and the potential effects of minor changes on any of these. Up close and wet on a mighty machine is one excellent way to do that and is exactly what our youngest team members have been doing this season. Design and build have teamed up in the persons of Luca and Pete, and they've been joined by others in their age groups from the yard and local sailing scene, as well as friends from Highwater Sails. D-1 is a well proven weapon and was the training ground for Daz himself who raced across the Atlantic (and won!) in a boat just like this, Clarke's Active Air, the 3rd Dazcat. They say passion diminishes over time but here it just seems to gather momentum. We'll be bringing you much more on D-1's season soon. In the meantime enjoy this short, and you decide whether they're working, playing or simply trying to survive!!

Navegar a vela te da todas las sensaciones. Puedes sentir la paz del mar, el susurro de las olas... hasta te puedes hacer un Di Caprio en la proa. Pero esto no es el caso. En este caso Nos tocaron vientos de fuerte intensidad en los que surge la parte deportiva, el estress, la velocidad, los nervios y todo lo que surge en momentos de acción. Ambos forman la vida en la mar.

High up in the mountins near a hydro powerplant is this extremly narrow gravel road. No rails and steep drop next to the road. Don't look down! :)
