Only a few miles from the marina we saw this storm approaching. Nothing you can do but let it pass. We furled in the genoa and just motored until it passed. We didn't get any video of the actual storm by a friend that was racing at the time had cameras rolling. So you can see what we went through. No waves to speak of so I just turned my back to it and waited it out.
The Windy 25 Mirage is a miracle of sportiness, with fantastic sea-keeping qualities, providing speed in safety and comfort, thanks to its precision WinTech V hull. A teak-decked bathing platform with shower sits below a practical hatch. A large U-shaped sofa round an adaptable table can be converted into a sunbed aft of ingenious flip-up skipper's and passenger's chairs. A refined dashboard and translucent glass windscreen with narrow stainless steel profiles provide a safe and attractive helm position. Below decks there is space for the heads and a sofa that converts into a berth.
There are several ways in which children can benefit by living the sailing cruising lifestyle. These include: 1. Developing a sense of adventure and curiosity: Children who live aboard sailboats and travel to new places often develop a sense of adventure and curiosity about the world around them. They learn to appreciate new cultures and experiences, and may become more open-minded and tolerant. 2. Building self-confidence and independence: Living aboard a sailboat can help children become more self-sufficient and independent. They may learn important skills like cooking, cleaning, and maintenance, and may also become more responsible for their own safety and well-being. 3. Enhancing physical fitness and skills: Sailing requires physical activity and can help children develop strength, balance, and coordination. They may also learn important skills like knot tying, navigation, and teamwork. 4. Encouraging creativity and imagination: The sailing lifestyle often involves spending time outdoors and experiencing nature firsthand. This can stimulate a child's creativity and imagination, and may encourage them to explore their interests in art, writing, or other activities. 5. Strengthening family bonds: Living aboard a sailboat can bring families closer together, as they learn to work as a team and rely on each other for support. Children may also develop stronger relationships with their parents and siblings, as they spend more time together in close quarters. #sailingexperience #familytime #familyfun
