#sailboat #sand on sailboat #Sailboat after sandstorm #sailing #sailing North Sea #Sailing in Holland This is a short version of one of our longer episodes where we get into a sandstorm and get sand everywhere. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boat and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders a 4 years ago. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 3 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Litza is a Devon Rex cat and she is the real cattain aboard. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea.

KNOW YOUR LIMITS - Freediving The first stop for prevention is knowing your own limits. So if you've been in the water for a long time and two things happen, one, the confidence builds like the dives start to feel easier, towards the end of the session, so it feels easier to go deeper, to equalise, you feel more relaxed and everything and the second thing is that your actual capacity goes down. You're more confident but less capable, the longer that you stay non the water. When we're breathing, between dives, we're eliminating more carbon dioxide than we are replacing during the actual dives. We become Hypocapnic. Low, hypo, canonic, carbon dioxide. There's too little CO2 in the body. You might think, that doesn't make sense CO2's a waste product of course we need to get rid of it, but you do need a baseline level of CO2 in the body in order to stimulate the dive reflex. From our Komodo to East of Flores Cruise in September/October 2014. Cannibal Rock in Horse shoe bay was again a stunner and wearing double dive suits, hoods and gloves, all of us spend our full dive times taking in the colors and diversity of some of the weirdest critters in Komodo. www.thesevenseas.net

Doing boat chores such as gas runs isn’t always fun but somehow they always find ways to keep each other laughing. #sailing #liveaboard #familytravel
