Our 40 day, 5555 NM crossing of the Atlantic is just about done. We expect to arrive in Grenada just after midnight on the morning of the 29th. We were able to visit the island of St Helena for 3 days and the island of Fernando de Noronha for 2 days, but otherwise it’s been eat, sleep, sail, repeat. We’ve been on every point of sail and used every sail in our inventory EXCEPT the storm sail. We’ll do a recap soon, but we just wanted to send out a quick highlight. Want more? Ogni compleanno va celebrato come si deve. Chissà perché il 30esimo per noi è così importante. Si tirano le fila. Si fa un primo checkpoint della strada percorsa fino a qui. Si realizza che il tempo va in una direzione sola. Per me c’è poca differenza, 29, 30, 31, sono tutti vicini. Invece la vera discriminante è un’altra. Avremmo mai immaginato di festeggiare il mio compleanno, a febbraio, in costume da bagno ai Caraibi? Neanche a pensarci. Questo è il vero insegnamento che voglio portarmi a casa. Tante preoccupazioni sul futuro e poi la vita decide che devi prendere una strada a cui mai e poi mai avresti pensato. Occhi aperti ragazzi, e soprattutto antenne alzate! Non sappiamo mai cosa si nasconde dietro l’angolo. Che volete farci, l’età mi ha reso saggia… A domani! Camilla
