An overview of who we are and what we do. See ya every Friday with a new video. Want to see more? Here are some suggestions. Watch us pour 100 gallons of lead: https://youtu.be/K1cpJBtWnQg Watch us drop a 70' tree Steve's great grandfather planted: https://youtu.be/264pSUT1KXg Check out our channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/AcornToArabella Visit our site: www.acorntoarabella.com Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building their own 38' wooden boat in their backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in supporting/helping here are a few ways: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/how-to-help Acorn to Arabella wishlist: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/wishlistpriority Jamestown Distributors Referral: If you are going to shop at Jamestown Distributors, please consider using our Total Boat referral code: http://totalboat.refr.cc/steveandalixa?t=tg Recurring support via Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/acorntoarabella Original Soundtrack available at benfundis.bandcamp.com FOLLOW US: Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/acorntoarabella Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/acorntoarabella/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/acorntoarabella Website: http://www.acorntoarabella.com

The Vaan R5 is the perfect size for extended blue water sailing or a family live-aboard. Like the R4, the R5 sailing catamaran is made of sustainable and circular materials such as recycled aluminium, FSC certified cork decking and recycled fabrics. And it's all-electric. ▫️ @Vaan ▫️ Forward in the owner's hull is a luxury bathroom with a spacious shower. The mirror slides sideways to open a cabinet and three large drawers and shelves give you all the storage you need. Aft is a luxurious owner's cabin. ▫️ The R5 comes in two versions: the open cockpit and the closed cockpit live-aboard version, the R5-LA. The main difference is the sliding door that is placed further aft in the LA version. This creates a spacious interior saloon that allows for unique layout options which can be tailored to your needs. ▫️ R5 SPECS - LOA: 49 ft / 14.94 m - Beam: 7.99 m - Draft: 135 cm / 210 cm (retractable centerboards optional) - Total Mast Height: 24.9 m - Propulsion: 2x electric saildrives - Bridge deck clearance 85 cm - Sail areas: - Main: 80 m2 - Jib: 45 m2 (self-tacking) - Code-0: 120 m2 (option) - Gennaker: 176 m2 (option) #aluminium #recycled #eco #sailing #catamaran #luxury
