If you have seen our video with the Jeep subwoofer, we have the ports pointed toward the corners of the jeep body. Just like in your home, the closer the subwoofer is to a corner, the more bass reflect you get which equals more bass. In our car we have the subwoofer port in the corner giving us low smooth bass. Once you've installed your subwoofer, it's time to fine-tune your settings to get the most out of your bass. Start by adjusting the gain, which controls the volume of the subwoofer. You want to set it to a level that's loud enough to hear but not so loud that it distorts the sound. With a subwoofer mounted in a trunk this can destroy the speaker because you can't hear it. Next, adjust the low-pass filter, which limits the frequencies that the subwoofer can play. This will prevent it from playing sounds that it can't handle or sound you don't want it to produce.  Let's Get Pumped: Tips for Maximizing Your Sub's Potential Now that you've got your subwoofer set up, it's time to get pumped!
