Catenary is the natural curve formed by the weight of an anchor chain between the boat and the seabed. That curve helps keep the pull on the anchor low and horizontal, allowing the anchor to remain buried and hold securely. It also cushions sudden loads from wind, waves, and the boat’s movement. Toni and I left Solomons and headed North. We were looking for an anchorage to spend the night so we could return home the next day. The sailing was great and we found a large isolated spot to drop our hook. The beauty of having a shallow draft. Peaceful and tranquil, with cool breezes :)
