J109 Going to Red was in the presence of sailing royalty during the Harbour Race of Cork Week 2024. Shortly after the start of the race J109 has a close cross with IMP, the two time winner of the famous Fastnet race. I was worried that our main sheet trimmer was going to jump ship to join the crew on Imp. I kept us far enough away to avoid the second man over board incident of the week. Schön, dass du hier bist! Wir, Emely und Tjark, haben uns den Traum vom eigenen Segelboot erfüllt, eine Maxi84, relativ spontan und ohne das ganz große Geld. Das Boot müssen wir noch umtaufen auf den Namen Meera. Wir nehmen dich mit auf unsere Reise von blutigen Anfängern zu hoffentlich passablen Seglern. Bevor wir uns in die Wellen stürzen können, liegt noch ein Berg an Arbeit vor uns. Umbauten, Änderungen und vor allem der Sportbootführerschein müssen erledigt werden.
