How to tie the Anchor hitch. ▫️ Also known as an Anchor Bend although that's a bit of a misnomer. This can be used to fasten a line to an Anchor, a warp to an Anchor chain or to tie your tender off onto a ring at the dock. Careful, it can jam, but it should be fine under moderate loads. ▫️ It's similar to a round turn and 2 half hitches except you tuck the working line through the loop of the turns giving you more friction and a stronger hold. Finish it off with a half hitch. ▫️ Add an extra turn at the beginning if you like. Why not? In fact this will make the knot less susceptible to jamming. ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ #hitch #hitches #anchorhitch #multihulls #thehitcher #sailing #catamarans #sailinglife #knots #sailingknots #ropes #bestknots #multihull #knot #boats #yachts #catamaran #rope #instaknots #seamanship #katamarans

There is always food in Thailand, during the day and during the night. For confused tourists like us, this can be especially handy!

This knot is called a round turn and two half hitches. And the round turn of two half hitches is a fantastic knot for tying on fenders. It's also a great knot for tying your dinghy up to a piling. So here are the steps to do a round turn and two half hitches. You go all the way around your stanchion or the dock post, leave quite a bit of tail. So there's our round turn we like to go over and you come back through that triangle, tighten it up, and the second time we come under. And then back over and that tightens it up. And that's a clean looking round turn, two half hitches. And you can see how that is a real strong, solid knot that's gonna hold your fenders or your dinghy to a dock.
