The 1914 Renaissance-style building boasted Japan’s first escalators, elevators, central heating, and a roof garden; lion statues at the entrance have greeted shoppers since. Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Main Store in Tokyo, founded as Echigoya in 1673, pioneered Japan’s retail revolution by selling kimono at fixed prices in a storefront instead of door-to-door. It became Japan’s first department store in 1904, introducing price tags, window displays, sales events, and a food hall—ideas borrowed from the West. ► Full test in Multihulls World N°201: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/bali-58-a-new-full-comfort-flagship ► The biggest of the Balis is impressive to say the least! During our visit, we were able to see for ourselves what you get on the water with platform measuring 1,500 square feet (139.5 m²), a surface area almost 20% larger than is offered by the competition. The integral deck instead of a trampoline is able to offer both a forward cockpit and a real beach club area at the stern - connected to a hydraulic platform - but also optimal rigidity. To keep weight under control, the yard has used Catana technology, implementing carbon structural bulkheads. While the overall design remains in keeping with the Bali style, the coachroof is slightly larger, with narrower side decks. On board, you’ll find the opening forward door, the saloon-cockpit (a true Bali signature) and the famous tilting aft door. The galley, chart table/desk and cabins (of which there are anywhere from 3 to 6, depending on the version) are all designed in an XXL spirit that should satisfy the most demanding owners in terms of comfort. The saloon can accommodate no less than 12 guests. As for the flybridge, it has become a genuine rooftop! ► Technical specifications Architect: Xavier Faÿ Design: Piaton Bercault Yacht Design Overall length: 57’11” (17.65 m) Beam: 29’9” (9.06 m) Draft: 4’10” (1.47 m) Displacement: 54,900 lbs (24.9 t) Sail area: 1,700 sq ft (158 m²) Engines: 2 x 80 or 115 HP Fuel: 317 US gal (1,200 l) Water: 348 US gal (1,320 l) CE Category: A16 / B16 / C24 / D40 ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests!
