For the cheapest AIS transponder solution for our sailboat, we found this article and gave it a try. So far, it works a charm. Just make sure it is an acceptable form of vessel identification in your area or region. If you prefer to order straight from the manufacturer, follow this link: https://socotran.com/products/fishing-net-tracker-locator-gps-marine-ais-netsonde-net-sonde-for-boating-rs-109m Important: When entering vessel information, ensure the unit is off till you are ready to write the information. Then you have around 20 seconds before the transfer of data is no longer possible, and you will have to start again. The transfer of data is not possible without the programming cable so make sure you order this with the unit.
