Lądowanie pontonem na Wyspie Wielkanocnej jest słynne na cały Pacyfik. Na podejściu do maleńkiego porciku potrafią załamywać się nawet kilkumetrowe fale. Tu jeszcze jest spokojnie, jednak kiedy sytuacja się pogorszy lądowanie staje się zbyt niebezpieczne, a porcik zostaje zamknięty. Bardzo przydaje się mocny silnik pozwalający płynąć w ślizgu. Fellow GFC Camper owners: I found some great, easy-to-install latch covers over on Etsy. I also squirted a bit of silicone grease down into the spring mechanism of my latches. So far, there have been no problems opening the latches in icy, cold, below-zero Canadian weather.
