Nayara offers an incomparable charm and a unique way to discover the treasures of Indonesia. Step aboard Nayara and immerse yourself in its world of sleek lines and contemporary elegance. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, every corner exudes sophistication. From the spacious decks that invite you to bask in the sun’s embrace to the sumptuous interior that envelopes you in comfort, every moment spent aboard is a true indulgence. Combining centuries of tradition with contemporary ship design, Nayara was designed by an American architect and built by the renowned Konjo boat builder from South Sulawesi. Her sleek hull is designed using locally sourced ironwood and teak for optimum performance and safety. Her stability and maneuverability make her Nayara equally suitable for cruising and traversing the Indonesian coast, capable of reaching remote islands both inside and outside Indonesia. To minimize Nayara’s environmental impact, the hull is shaped to optimize fuel efficiency at sea and the rigging is suitable for recreational sailing. Single-use plastic is prohibited in all suites and staterooms, and reef-safe customized sunscreen and bath her amenities are provided for your comfort. To offset the large amount of wood used in the traditional boat-building process, twice the number of trees used in construction was planted in partnership with OneTreePlanted in Borneo, where most of the ironwood was sourced. I was. All teak used in Nayara custom furniture is sourced from sustainably managed forests. The fantastic Nayara is a 45m long and 9.3m wide “Phinisi” (Indonesian wooden boat), with 7 decorated cabins that can accommodate 17 people. The boat extensively explores many spectacular dive sites and destinations throughout the year between Komodo, Alor, Banda Neira, and Raja Ampat.
The Figure 8 is one of the greatest knots of all. This is the figure 8 stoppper knot, used to prevent line from slipping through grommets, pulleys and the like. It's used in sailing, boating, climbing and ton of other applications. This is also the first part of a proper figure 8 knot for climbing. While not the most practical way to tie this knot, it looks kinda cool. Watch and you, too, can tie a figure 8 knot in 2 seconds! #knots #sailing #climbing Music by Nik Piscitello @neverbelukewarm on Insta
Once again, our Australian Shepherd dog Rose is finding her own entertainment as we work on our Leopard 45 catamaran in Trinidad. Last time it was water bottles, this time coconuts are her favorite toy! Luckily they're abundant around the boat, so it's easy enough to find a new one when she eventually rips it to pieces... It just goes to show that if there was ever a dog that was meant to live aboard a boat, it's her! Can't wait until we relaunch, and Rose gets to keep exploring the world by sea as the #1 good boat dog! After backpacking Asia, road tripping Europe and doing a bit of van life, we’re now exploring the world aboard our Leopard 45 catamaran.
