Sailboat Upgrade: Replacing Reef Lines in Boom. As new sailors, we are finishing off some sailboat upgrades and maintenance, to get ready for the waters of the San Juan Islands at the first of June. We have just replaced the Reefing Lines in our Boom. We have only two reefing points: A normal first Reef and a Deep Second Reef. We decided it was a simpler solution for us---versus adding another line. Schön, dass du hier bist! Wir, Emely und Tjark, haben uns den Traum vom eigenen Segelboot erfüllt, eine Maxi84, relativ spontan und ohne das ganz große Geld. Das Boot müssen wir noch umtaufen auf den Namen Meera. Wir nehmen dich mit auf unsere Reise von blutigen Anfängern zu hoffentlich passablen Seglern. Bevor wir uns in die Wellen stürzen können, liegt noch ein Berg an Arbeit vor uns. Umbauten, Änderungen und vor allem der Sportbootführerschein müssen erledigt werden.
