In our town we have a small swim lake for the kids. Each year the geese nest on an island and the population can get to 50. They stay all year and if the number is more then 20 they make the beach unusable. So after talking with the Ohio Department of natural resources we put together a program to encourage the geese not to nest on the island. The program is very simple. Visit the island with a dog for 2 hours every day during nesting season for 2 weeks at dusk. The Geese will then become convinced the Island is not a good place to nest and will move away. It is very important that you do not hurt the geese in any way and that you follow the law in your area. I also take her to the island a few time during the summer just to check it out. Here is one of our trips during the summer.

Vi byter kätting här på Tahiti. Vår gamla kätting var 100 meter lång men hade en svag länk precis vid 45 meter. Otur att den satt ungefär mitt på kättingen. 😬 Ni som hängt med oss länge vet att vi bytte från 50m kätting till 100m i Grekland för drygt 2år sedan. Så den höll tyvärr inte längre än så. Båtjobben tickas av här på Tahiti och vi börjar bli ganska bra på att beta av den där listan. 😅 Men det finns en grundregel vi har snott från andra seglare som vi verkligen gillar: Satsa på det du använder. När vi seglar är autopiloten en av de viktigaste prylarna ombord. Därav att vi skaffade oss en extra autopilot i Panama. När vi inte seglar ligger vi för ankar och då är det ankaret och kättingen som håller hela båten på plats. Därav att vi nu köpt en ny kätting. Många vet kanske att Franska Polynesien inte direkt är billigt så nu får ni gissa. Vi köpte 100m kätting i Grekland för 9.000kr, vad tror ni 80m kätting kostade på Tahiti? ⛓️ Gissa gärna i kommentarerna 💙⛵️
