The marina takes on a different persona when the sun stays low and the cold winds start to blow. I went to check on “Moments in Time” during the winter solstice. The boats on the hard were whistling in the wind, the sounds of laughter and tinking of drinks from the pool area had long departed, droning of harbor traffic remained eerily silent, and the lapping of waves had become more pronounced. I watched the sun reached its zenith over Moments in Time as shared in the last frames of the video. It was cold so I did not linger long. Feel free to comment and let us know your thoughts. The 2024 season got off to a great start with the annual Strangford Lough Spring Series hosted by the Quoile Yacht Club. With the switch to the new YTC Handicap there was a good fleet of boats push for the win in both the Spinnaker and non Spinnaker devisions. With the sun shinning and light and shifty breeze at the top end of the lough it was a tricky day for the team on GTR, who ended with a second and 4th to be second overall. It was great to be back on the water after another long winter, looking forward to many more days on the water as the season progresses. The team at Bottom up Boats is more motivated than ever to bring you as much racing content as possible.
