WIND? Singlehanded Docking Stern To with Lazy Lines Nick in this video shares valuable insight on handling winds while performing a stern-to docking manoeuvre with lazy lines. =========================== Transcript Now if it was a really windy day or if I was getting blown away right now I would drive boat against that stern line or control line so that I had control and was not drifting closer to the dock especially if I had a wind on the nose. So we just keep pulling this out and I keep watching the stern of my boat. Now that I'm pulling the boat forward I don't have to worry about the boat heading backwards there and I've got that control line on so I can't go too far. So I'm not going to worry about trying to pull this really hard right now I'm going to get it firm. Get it on. And then go down and deal with my other stern line and the other bow line. =========================== Filmed and Edited by Mahina Hathaway and Nick Hathaway, 45 Degrees Sailing Looking to sail in Croatia? In 2014 Ed completed an 18 month circumnavigation with his father, and I (Paige) got to tag along for most of the Pacific🙌🏻. Following Ed's return we knew we would do whatever it took to get back on the water, this time in our own boat, together. So, after nearly 5 years of planning, saving, and questioning our sanity, we quit our jobs in 2019 and sold most of our non-essential/non-heartfelt belongings. We've decided to spend the next few years dedicating ourselves to travel and adventure while living aboard our 37 foot home, Sea Pearl. If you'd like to join us while we work to get our new home offshore ready and to see what we get up to on our future sailing adventures - like, subscribe, and follow along. We'd love to have you!
