Juan Carlos from Multitech is back aboard my 1998 Island Packet 320 finishing the hookup on my new Yanmar 3YM30AE. We’re getting closer, but we’ve run into a classic boat-project problem: the throttle cable base isn’t working with the existing cables and the new engine setup, so this is one of several things that need to be modified. Yep… we literally cut the back off our aluminum sailing catamaran 😅 As part of our major refit, we extended the sugarscoops — rebuilding the sterns completely from 4mm 5083 aluminum. The flat sheets were then pressed for the perfect shape, and welded back on — inside MIG welded and outside TIG welded. We couldn’t be happier with how they turned out!
