One of our NSSC Sailability members, Jazz Turner, featured on BBC South East Today lunchtime news whilst sailing on her epic Project FEAR ("face everything and rise") journey. She is attempting to become the first female wheelchair user to complete a solo, non-stop, unassisted circumnavigation of the UK and Ireland. Jazz is raising money for the Newhaven and Seaford Sailing Club (NSSC) Sailability fund. Killyleagh Yacht Club turned on the weather for the second open event of the the Strangford Lough summer of sailing. With sixteen boats on the starting line for the YTC 1 races there was close racing throughout the whole of the fleet. Race 1 was a close shoot out between the Mat1010 Elixir, J109 GTR and the local A35 for Mike Spence Le Basceleur. With the lead swapping many times both on corrected time and over the water it was Le Basceleur that came out on top closely followed by the Redline Racing team on the J109 GTR.
