We are finally here! We have moved onto our sailboat CUBA and we are slowly getting her ready to sail as far as the winds allow us. Just the two of us: Enrique aka Kiki from Cuba and Sarah aka Salsa from Germany and our furry crew. We are setting out adventurizing, shananiganing and learning as we sail through the Mediterranean to – hopefully – cross the Atlantic next year and then circumnavigate the world. With an open mind, a fresh set of eyes and good vibes in tow we are steadily on the move. Race One of the annual narrows series on Strangford Lough got under way under cloudy skies with a moderate breeze GTR worked to leeward of its main competitors before hitting the pin with speed which allowed them to punch out into the stronger tide which helped the leewbow the three boats to windward of them. It did not take long for them to cast a wind shadow on the boats to windward of them allowing them to put the bow down and race off towards mark 1 in the lead..
