One of our NSSC Sailability members, Jazz Turner, featured on BBC South East Today lunchtime news on leaving Brighton Marina at the start of her epic Project FEAR ("face everything and rise") journey. She is attempting to become the first female wheelchair user to complete a solo, non-stop, unassisted circumnavigation of the UK and Ireland. Jazz is raising money for the Newhaven and Seaford Sailing Club (NSSC) Sailability fund. The current Greece / Turkey border crisis reminds me of our encounter recently at the Greece Turkey sea border off the coast of Kos. Not exactly 'Greece under attack' as some media reports have been saying but it demonstrates how it's not just about rubber dinghies full of immigrants or refugees. This jetskier easily evaded the Hellenic Coast Guard high speed boarder patrols, dropped off a passenger on Kos and returned to Turkish waters in the space of about 20 minutes!
