Race One of the annual narrows series on Strangford Lough got under way under cloudy skies with a moderate breeze GTR worked to leeward of its main competitors before hitting the pin with speed which allowed them to punch out into the stronger tide which helped the leewbow the three boats to windward of them. It did not take long for them to cast a wind shadow on the boats to windward of them allowing them to put the bow down and race off towards mark 1 in the lead.. Toni and I continue our winter ritual and went to check on “Moments in Time”. What in the hell were we thinking? It is cold, it is windy, and it is snowing. It is days like this that make us question our sanity. Anyway, I think we learned our lesson. Next winter we will be where the palm trees sway, the bikinis abound, and the rum is plentiful.
