With full sails and steady winds, we arrive just in time for a golden sunset in the bay of Peguera. We explore the historic heart of Palma, including the stunning Palma Cathedral (La Seu) and the Royal Palace of La Almudaina, before enjoying some authentic Mallorcan cuisine at a local favorite. Back on board, it’s time for some essential sailboat maintenance. We take down our headsail, inspect and lubricate the furling system, and patch a few tears on the leech. With Vika on the winch and Kaia back in shape, we’re ready to continue our journey. Somos un grupo de estudiantes de Ingeniería naval de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid que decidieron continuar con el antiguo equipo Sailing Madrid HC, que comitió en el HydroContest en los años 2016-2018 quedando en 4º posición en la categoria Heavy Weight, y 3º en Long Distance. Ahora hemos decidido formar un nuevo equipo con el que embarcarnos en un proyecto aún más ambicioso: un trimarán tripulado con una eslora de 7 metros y 2.4 metros de manga, propulsados por energías limpias, placas solares, y una embarcación gemela propulsada por una pila de combustible de hidrógeno. Con dicha embarcación participaremos en las competiciones SolarSportOne The Ultimate Solar Challenge y Energy Boat Challenge, en Mónaco, Paises Bajos y Hungría.
