50th Rolex Fastnet Race - one month until vital registration opens! 1200 UTC 11th January 2023: this time should be double underlined in the calendar of those wishing to enter next year’s Rolex Fastnet Race, as it will be the moment when registration officially opens for the 50th edition of the Royal Ocean Racing Club’s flagship event. Just like Glastonbury tickets when they go on sale, registration opening prior to recent editions of the Rolex Fastnet Race have seen available places snapped up within just a few minutes. In the last pre-pandemic edition of the biennial Rolex Fastnet Race in 2019, the entry capacity was reached in just four minutes and 37 seconds - 13 seconds outside the record time set two years earlier. With next year’s edition of the world’s largest offshore yacht race marking a special anniversary, demand is expected to be higher than ever, with more than 450 expected on the start line, ranging from maxi monohulls and multis to 30ft club racers and cruisers and everything in between. Entries are available on a ‘first come-first served’ basis and any late comers beyond the RORC’s limit will be placed on a waiting list. #RolexFastnetRace #RORCracing

Les 31 juillet, premier et deux août prochains, Écovoile Baie-des-Chaleurs accueillera des dizaines de marins de tous âges dans le cadre de la troisième édition des Régates Écovoiles Desjardins. Les visiteurs et la population locale sont aussi conviés à venir festoyer sur la plage municipale de Carleton-sur-Mer ou diverses activités sportives et récréatives sont organisées pour l’occasion. Les 31 juillet, premier et deux août, la troisième édition des Régates Écovoiles Desjardins fait place à des marins de tous âges qui régateront, toutes voiles dehors, sur notre magnifique Baie des Chaleurs. À cette occasion, musique, animation et diverses activités sportives sont organisées pour tous sur la plage municipale de Carleton-sur-mer. Sous le grand chapiteau, service de bar et de restauration offre sushis, hot dogs, bières du Naufrageur et rafraichissements. En soirée, soupers au profit d'Écovoiles. Au menu vendredi : de savoureux hot dogs de luxe à l’européenne et samedi des Moules du Large offertes gracieusement par Sylvain Bujold. Les billets pour les soupers sont disponibles à Écovoile. Pour couronner le weekend, à 21 h samedi, feu de grève et soirée acoustique en contes et en chansons. Les Régates Écovoiles Desjardins sont rendues possibles grâce à de nombreux partenaires financier dont les Caisses populaires Desjardins, la Ville de Carleton-sur-Mer, la Microbrasserie le Naufrageur, Esso, Otis ET FILS AINSI QUE ses partenaires médiatiques : GRAFFICI, CIEUFM ET CHAUTVA.
