It was a comprehensive victory for the Spanish team in the MAPFRE In-Port Race Alicante. The local heroes on Xabi Fernández's MAPFRE were a popular winner in the first point scoring race of the 2017-18 Volvo Ocean Race.

Toni and I left Solomons and headed North. We were looking for an anchorage to spend the night so we could return home the next day. The sailing was great and we found a large isolated spot to drop our hook. The beauty of having a shallow draft. Peaceful and tranquil, with cool breezes :)
