⚠️ Banded sea krait — one of the deadliest snakes on Earth — was found in our dinghy this morning. These snakes hide in engine compartments after hunting at night. Check your dinghy every morning. It could save a life. 👉 Subscribe for more real-life sailing stories: https://www.youtube.com/@CaptainGermanExploring #SeaSnake #SailingSafety #DinghyCheck #Shorts

WIND? Singlehanded Docking Stern To with Lazy Lines Nick in this video shares valuable insight on handling winds while performing a stern-to docking manoeuvre with lazy lines. =========================== Transcript Now if it was a really windy day or if I was getting blown away right now I would drive boat against that stern line or control line so that I had control and was not drifting closer to the dock especially if I had a wind on the nose. So we just keep pulling this out and I keep watching the stern of my boat. Now that I'm pulling the boat forward I don't have to worry about the boat heading backwards there and I've got that control line on so I can't go too far. So I'm not going to worry about trying to pull this really hard right now I'm going to get it firm. Get it on. And then go down and deal with my other stern line and the other bow line. =========================== Filmed and Edited by Mahina Hathaway and Nick Hathaway, 45 Degrees Sailing Looking to sail in Croatia? “Well, a couta boat, it’s got what you call a transom. It’s square at the back, you know? And its stern is shaped like a wine glass. They call it a wine glass stern, but a double-ender is virtually the same shape on the bow as what it is at the stern. A double-ender boat is built for net fishing."
