TONGAROA is a very well-maintained and extensively upgraded example of the highly regarded Leopard 44 cruising catamaran from Robertson & Caine. Designed by Morelli & Melvin, the Leopard 44 combines excellent offshore capability with spacious accommodation and the highly desirable forward cockpit arrangement that made the model one of the most successful cruising catamarans of her generation. This particular example has benefitted from continuous upgrades and careful ownership, including a substantial refit and modernisation program between 2020 and 2026. Her systems have been comprehensively updated with lithium batteries, large solar capacity, upgraded Raymarine electronics, rebuilt sail drives and engines, new standing and running rigging, new alternators, custom Sunbrella enclosures, and numerous interior and exterior improvements. Tongaroa is currently registered under Spanish Lista 6ª and is fully charter-compliant in Spain. The owning company may also be acquired, offering a potentially tax-efficient ownership structure together with charter income potential. In the past year, the owners selectively chartered the vessel for approximately four weeks with professional skippers, generating sufficient income to offset annual mooring, insurance, and some maintenance costs. The vessel is being sold in the course of a business, which may present potential VAT advantages depending on the purchaser’s structure and intended use. Her inventory is exceptionally comprehensive with large lithium battery capacity, 1500W of solar, air conditioning, Starlink, upgraded navigation systems and a Highfield tender with electric outboard all making her an ideal platform for Mediterranean cruising, liveaboard use or light charter operation. ►Multihulls World was one of the first specialized media publications to go digital: the famous millennium bug (which in the end flopped all by itself) is still well remembered! The content of our magazines has been online for over 20 years now, in web or pdf format, faithful to the paper layout. As for the “real” digital version on the Multihulls World app, i.e. the pdf enriched with all the internet links, slide shows and videos - that version has been running since 2009. The late 2000s also saw the rise of social media, Facebook in particular, but today we are also on Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin and TikTok. As for our YouTube channel, it was born in 2009. Yes, and then? Well, after that, we set out to make the Multihulls World machine more fluid by making easier access to content. Now you’re saying to yourself “OK, so paper is finished...”. Well, no, it isn’t! It is precisely our paper archives that enabled us to scan all the multihull tests published before our new digital era. In this 180-page Buyer’s Guide, you’ll find nearly 150 sailing multihulls. And just think that we have more than 500 complete tests in our files, all accessible by a simple click on our website! In addition, we’ve been working hard to improve our video offering. For the past year, the content we offer has been exclusively ours. These videos include all the links you might be interested in - including the related article, and features if it’s a boat test. Explore the files, click on the Plus on the right, and get familiar with this great visual medium. What about the paper magazine? Well, that’s become interactive too! Thanks to QRCodes, boats tests and videos are now directly accessible. Read, scan, discover! I took the trouble to count them for you: in Multihulls World 187, it represents 85 tests and more than 70 videos - 250 hours of exclusive content. Is paper really losing out in the digital revolution? In our opinion, No! And we intend to show you that multihulls, paper and digital are a good match, thanks to a forthcoming tutorial campaign. The 2024 season got off to a great start with the annual Strangford Lough Spring Series hosted by the Quoile Yacht Club. With the switch to the new YTC Handicap there was a good fleet of boats push for the win in both the Spinnaker and non Spinnaker devisions. With the sun shinning and light and shifty breeze at the top end of the lough it was a tricky day for the team on GTR, who ended with a second and 4th to be second overall. It was great to be back on the water after another long winter, looking forward to many more days on the water as the season progresses. The team at Bottom up Boats is more motivated than ever to bring you as much racing content as possible. With over 10,000 members of the Bottom Up Boats Crew we continue to go from strength to strength !!!! Sweats Sound brought to you be NCS...... Track: Arcando & Maazel - To Be Loved (feat.
