We are staying at a mooring north of Phuket, located close to Yacht Haven Marina. In this area, there are many boats; most stay on moorings, but some are on an anchor. This is a nice place because it is very close to all the facilities, with the marina within walking distance. This video was taken by a friend as we're approaching a favorite bay. We're reaching down the wind, so our boards are up to reduce drag. This is our prototype Split Junk Rig (SJR), an innovation by Slieve McGalliard. Camber and set are adjustable via lacings along top and bottom of each panel. Later, we sewed the final sail to match. The mizzen (aft) sail stays flat for decisive maneuvering and quiet weather-cocking.
