Our biggest project yet! Our old bottom paint was failing and our thru hulls were corroding! We hauled out at Bert Jabin Yacht Yard to take care of both problems at once. Doing most of the work ourselves, we didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into! Incredibly hot weather and back breaking labor, after 4 days the thru hulls were complete and we finished prepping to start the paint. Thankfully we didn’t sand the bottom paint ourselves. Instead we wanted to start fresh and got the bottom professionally blasted down to bare gel coat. After days prepping the bottom of the boat we toiled for two MORE days to apply four coats of Interlux 2000 barrier paint followed by two coats of Trinidad Pro. We thought this was going to be easy peasy, right? I’ve painted the entire inside of my house, how hard could it be to paint a boat? We were so wrong… Constant crouching on our knees then standing back up - lather, rinse, repeat… The Trinidad Pro has so much copper in it, holding that heavy roller full of paint above our head for hours was brutal! On the bright side, we both got a full body workout two days in a row 🤣 We finished up the last coat of paint around 9pm and it wasn’t until the next morning that we could appreciate the fruits of our labor, it was so worth it. 💙 Will I ever volunteer to paint the bottom of another boat…? Oh, heck no! Το Women in Yachting Conference σχεδιάστηκε από την ONDECK Events με στόχο να γίνει ένα δυναμικό βήμα διαλόγου, έμπνευσης και συνεργασιών. Η διοργάνωση τόνισε ότι η ισότητα δεν αποτελεί μόνο ηθική επιταγή, αλλά και στρατηγικό πλεονέκτημα για τις επιχειρήσεις του σήμερα. Αναδείχθηκε η ανάγκη για: πολιτικές που στηρίζουν τη γυναικεία επιχειρηματικότητα, ευκαιρίες κατάρτισης και mentoring, εργασιακά περιβάλλοντα που προάγουν τη συμπερίληψη, δίκαιη εκπροσώπηση σε ηγετικές θέσεις, ενίσχυση της ορατότητας νέων γυναικείων προτύπων. Οι συζητήσεις των πάνελ, από τις πρωτοπόρες που άνοιξαν δρόμους σε έναν απαιτητικό χώρο, μέχρι τις νέες επαγγελματίες της τεχνολογίας, του σχεδιασμού και της βιωσιμότητας, ανέδειξαν τον καταλυτικό ρόλο των γυναικών στο μέλλον του κλάδου. Ένα συνέδριο που ανοίγει νέους ορίζοντες Η ONDECK Events δεσμεύεται να συνεχίσει και να επεκτείνει τον θεσμό, θέτοντας τις βάσεις για ακόμη πιο στοχευμένες δράσεις τα επόμενα χρόνια. Το Women in Yachting δεν ήταν απλώς μια ημερίδα· ήταν μια εμπειρία που άγγιξε καρδιές, ενεργοποίησε συνειδήσεις και άνοιξε νέους ορίζοντες για το μέλλον του κλάδου.
