One of our NSSC Sailability members, Jazz Turner, featured on BBC South East Today evening news on leaving Brighton Marina at the start of her epic Project FEAR ("face everything and rise") journey. She is attempting to become the first female wheelchair user to complete a solo, non-stop, unassisted circumnavigation of the UK and Ireland. Jazz is raising money for the Newhaven and Seaford Sailing Club (NSSC) Sailability fund. Comprobar periódicamente el estado de nuestra jarcia es imprescindible. El mástil, que está compuesto de simple aluminio, sufre unas cargas terribles por la presión que ejerce el viento en las velas. Esto aumenta cuando viene una racha de viento o al virar el barco. Date cuenta que si se suelta un obenque o un estay, la rotura del mástil y desarboladura del mismo es inminente.
